We are delighted to announce that Building Pathways have been awarded a ESF Community Grant to deliver their highly successful pre-employability programme in selected areas of Kent.
Commissioned by the South East LEP (SELEP) Region as part of their new 5 year Skills Strategy, the first Building Pathway Academy outside London will be delivered in partnership with long-term employer partner Willmott Dixon, and will begin on March 28th 2022.
The 2-week online course comprises accredited training & qualifications (including CSCS Green card), employability skills and careers advice, and Willmott Dixon, as well as delivering industry insight sessions, CV workshops and mock interviews, will be offering participants site visits and opportunities for work experience and employment on their Hadlow College site, a £6.4 million project in West Kent.
We will be working with JCP Partnership Managers and Work Coaches, and other local organisations in the Maidstone, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Medway areas to recruit small groups of out of work local people aged 16+ who are interested in a career in construction.
Interested candidates should email firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to their JCP Work Coach.
Martine Corbett – Training Programme and Social Value Manager, Willmott Dixon:
“Willmott Dixon are delighted to have recently partnered with Building Pathways to deliver a collaborative Building Lives & Building Pathways programme. Delivering training and employment opportunities and seeing positive outcomes for many of those on the programme – increased confidence, self esteem, CSCS cards and employment – has been fantastic. Building Pathways shares Willmott Dixon’s values and the team are driven to change not only some of the misconceptions surrounding the construction industry but, most importantly, people’s lives.”
Mike Davis-Marks – Director, Building Pathways:
“Having moved to Kent some 6 months ago, I am delighted to be given the opportunity to sprinkle our Building Pathways magic dust over some of the county’s residents and am grateful, as ever, to the talented and inspiring team that make up our small company.”
