A FREE employer-led career exploration and employability programme, completed in April 2021, for South London residents from all backgrounds and skill levels* who want to find out about careers in construction and the built environment
The programme included online and/or face to face industry information webinars, mentor-led masterclasses and one to one personal development sessions, delivering a unique package of:
- Industry Insights
- Skills Development
- Personal Development Planning
- Work Experience and/or Site Tours
- Career Information, Advice and Guidance
- Short Training Courses
- Opportunities on Major Local Construction Projects
*Eligibility criteria:
→ You are 16 or over
→ You are a resident of the London borough of Merton, Greenwich, Croydon, Newham or Bromley
→ You are unemployed or not actively seeking employment
→ You have proof of your right to work in the UK
→ You haven’t already participated in a similar ESFA-funded project
→ You have access to the Internet and a computer or laptop

We are extremely grateful for the support Building Pathways have provided to Merton and Carshalton colleges construction students. During a year where opportunities to engage with employers have been limited, our students have benefitted greatly from meeting employers virtually and gaining insight into the Construction Industry. The mentoring and additional support provided to an high needs learner, has seen him gain confidence and successfully achieve his Health & Safety certificate.
